How to commission a portrait 

I will meet with you to discuss your initial request to find out whether you want an oil painting, a sketch or a photograph.

For an oil painting or a sketch I will request 2-4 settings.  If  this number of sittings is not possible for you, then we can arrange a photo session for me to take a series of photographs and to agree on the size and style of the painting or sketch.   

Depending on the canvas size I would normally take 1-3 months to finish your portrait.  During this time I will contact you and ask you to view the portrait to see if you think it needs any alteration before I hand it over to you. 

I will request 70% of the total cost in advance as soon as we have agreed to commence with your portrait, then you will pay the remaining cost when you collect the painting. 

If I need to post it to you then the postage will be added on to the cost.
